The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) continues to expand its international network of partner institutions of higher education, further developing its collaborative research initiatives and providing its students access to diverse international curricula, enriching their academic and intercultural experiences. In the context of these ongoing efforts, AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, and Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) Rector, Dr. Martin Paul, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that paves the way for a partnership between AUIB’s College of Arts and Sciences and RUB’s Faculty of Philology, “toward the internationalization of higher education.” As per the signed MoU, the two universities envisage exchanging faculty members, students, and publications, as well as engaging in joint research and teaching projects, conferences, and various cultural programs.
This collaboration project was initiated by Ms. Dalia Abid, Regional Director Europe at AUIB’s Office of Institutional Advancement and Global Engagement, and Dr. David Jordan, Research Associate at RUB’s Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, with an aim to foster long-term cooperation in research and teaching between the two universities, and to create enduring Iraqi-German academic networks that would have a lasting impact on the educational landscape in the two countries.
