- Admission shall be as per applicable programs and agreements concluded with Arab and foreign states (cultural exchange).
- Admission of offspring and wives of diplomats working in Iraq.
- Admission at the student’s personal expense.
- The student must be a holder of the Iraqi Preparatory Certificate or equivalent.
- The student’s non-Iraqi certificate shall be equalized from the Iraqi Ministry of Education/General Directorate of Assessment and Exams.
- The student must not have graduated more than three years ago, for the streams of “cultural exchange” and “offspring and wives of diplomats working in Iraq”, and not more than four years for students studying at their personal expense, for admission to daytime study. Students admitted to evening study shall be exempt from this.
- The student must fulfill the minimum admission boundary for the college or university at which they wish to study, as per the options outlined in the application form and the ranking of preferences.
- The student must present a medical certificate confirming that they are free of diseases, in addition to passing the medical exam, per the requirements of each study.
For Undergraduate studies:
- The equalized secondary certificate validated by the issuing entity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in which it was issued and the Iraqi embassy at that country. Students who are holders of the Iraqi secondary certificate must submit the certificate validated by the general education directorate of the governorate in which the student completed their study.
- Original birth certificate or true copy.
- Copy of the student’s passport.
- Two personal photographs.
- The application form of each stream, obtained through the entity nominating the student, the Iraqi embassy or the Ministry, provided that the student or the nominating entity pay the applicable fees at the Ministry’s financial department.
- Application for study shall continue until October 1st. Please note that the Iraqi Ministry of Education may have specific requirements for different educational systems, for more information students must visit the Certification Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Education. for more information, please visit Ministery of Education website http://www.moedu.gov.iq/
Declaration of Major & Change of Major
Declaration of major is as the standard process for application through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) as the time of the portal application
Transfer of Credits
Transfer students will also apply either through the direct or MHE channel. This depends on the country of graduation. The student must meet the admissions and English language requirement of the university.
In addition to the above. AUIB will do a transfer of credit process to verify whether the student’s previous university coursework can be accepted. The student must submit the following to initiate the transfer of credit process:
- Official university transcript
- Course syllabus or detailed course description
A course syllabus or description must be submitted for each course that is eligible for transfer. The course being transferred must meet the below criteria:
- Equivalent to a AUIB grade of C or higher
- Relevant in content to a course at AUIB
- Equivalent in credits or contact hours
A maximum of 60 credits can be transferred for a student. Courses in the student’s major and specialization cannot be transferred.
