Program Overview
The MPH Program consists of 30 credit hours of didactic courses along with a 6 credit hour practicum, totaling 36 credit hours. The program follows a trimester system, including spring, summer, and fall terms. All courses are delivered on campus at AUIB, utilizing state-of-the-art smart classrooms and simulation laboratory facilities. Instruction is provided by faculty members holding terminal degrees with expertise in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, and related disciplines. Course administration and content delivery are managed through AUIB’s official learning management system, currently Canvas, which offers students a centralized platform for accessing learning materials, assessments, and communication.

At least a Bachelor’s degree in public health or related disciplines. For the first cohort, and given the country’s needs, preference might be granted for working professionals with medical or health-related backgrounds. The bachelor’s degree must be obtained from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent (a 75% in the Iraqi system). Students with a 2.5–2.9 GPA may be admitted after completion of remedial courses determined by the committee at the interview.
Since English is the language of instruction, applicants must also provide official scores from an accepted English proficiency test such as the IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score will be a 6.0 on the IELTS or the TOEFL equivalent.
A 300–500-word personal statement in English describing your educational and professional background and your motivation for entering the program.
An interview with the Admissions Committee may be required.
