The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and Temple University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the framework of prospective academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutions, allowing for a wide array of collaborative programs and activities, including the exchange of students, faculty, staff, scientific materials, and publications. The MOU also paves the way for the establishment of joint degree programs, joint research activities and publications, and collaboration in organizing various conferences, cultural activities, and events.
AUIB hopes to build on its newly established “broad-based partnership” with Temple University to bolster its plans for a “Health Hub,” partnering AUIB’s Colleges of Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Health Technologies, as well as AUIB’s future Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, with their counterparts at Temple University. The envisaged Health Hub would institutionalize coordination between the two universities as they assess, design, and implement the best possible programs and practices to reform and develop Iraq’s health sector, in tandem with key Iraqi government partners, prime of which is the Ministry of Health.
