A joint delegation from Toyota Iraq and Sumitomo Corporation Middle East visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), where they convened with University President, Dr. Bradley Cook, and senior members of the University’s academic and administrative cadre. The parties discussed the prospects of expanding the collaborative relationship AUIB already has with Toyota Iraq to multilateral cooperation that includes Sumitomo Corporation, a major member of the Sumitomo Group, which has expanded its activities over the decades, growing from a copper refining business to become one of Japan’s leading players in multiple fields such as finance, insurance, manufacturing, and real estate.
The visiting delegation included Toyota Iraq’s President, Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany, and CEO, Mr. Tadashi Tanimoto, as well as Sumitomo Corporation’s CEO of the Middle East Branch, Mr. Hiroshi Karashima.
In the discussion between the AUIB team and their interlocutors from Toyota Iraq and Sumitomo Corporation Middle East, President Cook highlighted the parties’ shared institutional value of “commitment to communities where we work,” regarding it a cornerstone to any existing or future collaborative initiatives and programs.
