The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Leadership and Management Team of the Year award at the Times Higher Education (THE) “THE Awards Arab World 2026”, to be held at the University of Mohammed VI Polytechnic in Morocco on the 4th of November, during THE Arab Universities Summit, where the winners will be announced.
This recognition celebrates the vision, dedication, and collaborative efforts of AUIB’s leadership and management team in advancing higher education and supporting the University’s continued growth. AUIB is truly proud to be honored among leading universities across the Arab world.
“Universities across this region have faced immense challenges over the past year, but what shines through entries to the THE Awards Arab World is higher education sectors’ immense resilience, steadfast commitment to national development, and enduring capacity for innovation. That the achievements detailed in institutions’ submissions took place against a backdrop of mounting geopolitical tension makes them only more impressive,” said THE editor, Chris Havergal, on the occasion, maintaining that “the credit must go to the individuals and teams behind the shortlisted entries. Arab universities continue to excel in the face of adversity, and it will be our great honor to crown our winners in Morocco this November.”
Firmly rooted in the rich historical academic and intellectual traditions of Iraq while embracing the pedagogy and cutting-edge knowledge of the 21st century as embodied in the American-style system of higher education, AUIB aspires to bridge historical traditions with a modern worldview and the latest in technology, offering students a solid foundation for lifelong learning and an openness to the novel and to positive change. AUIB is heartened in its unique endeavor by the recognition of reputable institutions such as the Times Higher Education.
