When I was 12 years old, I had a biology class in high school, and our subject was about black mold. So, as a student who knew nothing about the subject, I asked my teacher a question does it grow on the black bread? (In Iraq we call the bread made from wheat as black bread) everyone laughed at me including the teacher. It might be a ridiculous thing to think about, but I still remember it till now. From that day I decided to not ask questions (not to be curious) and just get the information from the teacher and the book and that is it, day by day, my brain started to shut down, all my skills, critical thinking, imagination, and curiosity started to fade, and I was just 12 years old kid! After high school, and when İ got accepted at AUIB, İ started my classes on such days, I was shocked by the teachers, like they want us to speak up, give our opinions and analyze information that I didn’t use to in high school. After a while, I realized that these skills are what make me a living conscious organism! Not a computer that receives data and information no! I can think, analyze, and be creative! Critical thinking and curiosity are the key to solve our problems, scientists always had that kind of imagination that led them to create something new and beneficial. And now, I do believe that every human being has a genius brain inside, but unfortunately it fades day by day if we don’t feed it.
