Position Summary: AUIB is currently seeking a talented WordPress Developer to lead the development and maintenance of their newly designed website. This role requires proficiency in both front-end and back-end WordPress development, code analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creativity, technical skills, and dedication to maintaining a high-quality user experience in line with the university’s brand standards.

This position reports to the Marketing Manager.

Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

Core Responsibilities

• Theme and Plugin Development: Create and customize WordPress themes and plugins.
• Code Analysis and Optimization: Regularly analyze current codes and stay updated with industry trends to optimize web pages for efficiency.
• Feature Implementation: Design and implement new features and functionalities.
• Brand Consistency: Maintain consistent branding across all web pages.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Improve back-end applications and processes for high performance and availability.
• Collaboration: Work with team members to set objectives and develop functional designs.
• Industry Monitoring: Stay abreast of industry developments and trends to innovate new programs, products, or features.

Job Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years working as a WordPress developer.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of web development processes, code versioning tools (Git, SVN, Mercurial), and content management systems.
• Design Skills: Experience with responsive and adaptive design, and knowledge of front-end frameworks (Angular, Vue.js, jQuery).
• Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic; Kurdish is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer, and project management skills.
• Professional Experience
• UI/UX Development: Experience in building user interfaces and reusable code.
• Responsive Design: Proven experience in designing and developing responsive websites.
• SEO and Mobile Development: Extensive experience in SEO and mobile app development is a plus.
• Adobe Suite: Adequate knowledge of Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects).
