This position will report to the Dean of the College of Healthcare Technologies

JOB SUMMARY:

The College of Healthcare Technologies at the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB) is pleased to invite qualified applicants for a full-time position as a dental technologist.
The candidate will be responsible for assuring pre-clinical instruction, including but not limited to aspects of restorative dentistry (including operative dentistry and fixed and removable prosthodontics) and orthodontics through the delivery of didactic, simulation clinic coursework and assessment of student learning.

Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

Key Responsibility:
Areas of Accountabilities: Main Activities

• Deliver didactic content students of laboratory technology.
• Assist in pre-clinical and clinical courses in Dental Technology
• Assist in simulation of clinic content for all restorative dentistry coursework, including demonstrations of correct procedural techniques, to the student audience.
• Assist in producing adjunctive educational materials such as demonstration videos or sample laboratory projects for the students to reference.
• Maintain and revise a laboratory manual and written examination content in conjunction with the Dean of the College.
• Assist in providing students’ grade assessments and suggest a preclinical educational strategy.
• Contribute to the College practice and training facilities and support an environment that facilitates research and scholarly activity.

JOB Qualifications Minimum:

A: Education:

• Master’s degree in Dental Laboratory Technology or a related profession.  Certificate may be considered for exceptionally experienced candidate.

B: Experience: Years/Type of Work Experience:

• 5 years experience as a dental technician in all fields, including removable appliances, fixed prostheses, orthodontics, and implant reconstructions)
• ​Experience with digital dental processes such as digital scanning and 3D methods preferred
• ​Operational understanding of American university educational systems.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
