Position Summary: The Dean of the College of Business is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for advancing the mission, vision, and goals of the college and the university. The Dean will lead the college in providing high-quality, American-style liberal arts and business education, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhancing academic excellence, research, and engagement with the business community.
This position will report directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop, refine, and implement the strategic plan for the College of Business.
- Align the college’s goals with AUIB’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.
- Lead efforts to gain and maintain AACSB accreditation.
- Academic Excellence
- Oversee curriculum development and revision, ensuring alignment with global business trends.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and retain outstanding faculty.
- Promote high-quality research, practice, teaching, and learning experiences.
- Develop collaborations and partnerships with world-renowned academic institutions of higher education and research.
- Develop and nurture graduate programs in collaboration with premier international institutions.
- Student Success
- Foster a student-centered culture, ensuring academic and professional success.
- Expand internship opportunities, career services, and alumni engagement.
- Recruit students and prepare them for excellence in business education, practice, and research.
- Community and Industry Engagement
- Establish partnerships with local and global businesses, government agencies, and NGOs.
- Act as a representative of the college in professional and industry forums.
- Develop and maintain the College Advisory Board.
- Be involved in community outreach for networking and fundraising purposes.
- Develop an active alumni association.
- Resource Management
- Develop and manage the college’s budget.
- Secure external funding through grants, donations, and partnerships.
- Ensure optimal allocation of resources to support teaching, research, and service initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Business Administration or a related field from a US-accredited institution of higher education.
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience in higher education.
- Proven track record in accreditation, strategic planning, and fundraising.
- Strong connections to the global business and academic communities.
