The College of Law (CoL) at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) organized a series of lectures delivered by international legal expert, Dr. Daniel Hoffiz. The guest lecturer spoke on an array of topics in law related to business project management, risk management, the principles of finance and taxation in the field of Green Energies, and litigation, arbitration, and settlement, among others.

“The faculty are exceptionally gifted at creating an innovative curriculum while teaching the foundations of critical analysis for topics relevant to the current demands of the workplace,” said Dr. Hoffiz, noting that CoL “students were very intelligent and offered exceptional responses in most cases when prompted.”

Dr. Hoffiz is currently the Senior Lead Counsel of Total Energies, Houston, Texas. He had held leading positions in transnational corporations and banks in the United States, Singapore, China, and Japan. He specializes in the negotiation, mediation, and drafting of legal agreements pertaining to engineering, procurement and construction projects, especially in the renewable energies sector. He also advises on litigation and arbitration on various legal issues, including those related to Mergers and Acquisitions.
