The American Space at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) organized a workshop on three-dimensional printing, where Creative and Digital Media Specialist at AUIB’s Marketing and Communications Department, Mr. Furat Najm, delivered a presentation on the broad categories of manufacturing and the various types of 3D Printing machines, the materials they use, and the workings and specifications of each of those.

The presentation our colleague Furat delivered to an audience of students at American Space’s main hall featured a practical experiment on operating “one of the easiest (to use) and most affordable types of 3D Printing machines,” and on programming it as well, using one of the simplest and most common programming languages. Furat elaborated on the workings and technical specifications of the machine, and on the qualities of various materials used in printing. The audience was engaged by our colleague’s presentation, especially as several of the students in attendance had some experience in this revolutionary type of printing which is changing the landscape of engineering industries and adding elements of novelty to the lives of each of us.
