The American Space at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) hosted a graduation ceremony organized by the local chapter of the New York based “Global Nomads Group” organization which connects youth across borders, offering free online courses in various topics, internships, and different community-impacting programs.

English language teacher and representative of “Global Nomads Group” in Baghdad, Ms. Nada Al-Monthery, awarded certificates to schoolchildren who had completed a “Student to World” creative writing course, where students are tutored to write personal essays on topics such as mental health, human rights, architecture, and overcoming bias, exploring these topics from personal as well as community perspectives, and holding group discussions of students’ writings.
