(Baghdad, Iraq) – The American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Misan today during a visit by a high-level delegation from Misan to the AUIB campus. Focused on joint scientific cooperation, the MOU was signed by the Presidents of both universities in a ceremony attended by members of the faculty and staff of both universities.
AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, said, “The MOU signing with Misan University will increase the opportunities for cooperation in scientific fields and allow students and researchers to exchange knowledge and develop long-term relationships between our universities. We continue to establish strong relationships with universities in Iraq and around the world and we are eager to have this partnership,” said President Mulnix.
The President of Misan University, Dr. Abdul Basit Muhsin, likewise lauded the cooperation between the two universities. “We hope that this MOU will be one of the cooperation doors between the two universities,” said Dr. Muhsin, “and we look forward to implementing this agreement very soon. We are happy to meet the Faculty and Deans of AUIB as American universities are well known around the world.”
The MOU opens many possibilities for scientific cooperation and exchange of expertise in various programs that Iraqi students can study at either AUIB or Misan University.
AUIB is a private, non-profit university established in 2018. It currently has eight colleges. The University of Misan is a Public university established in 2007, It includes a group of colleges with various scientific and humanitarian programs.
