The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, laying the foundation of their partnership in the fields of education, scientific research, training, technical development, public outreach, cultural exchange and international relations. Collaborative projects will be facilitated by the establishment of a German Center at AUIB campus, and FES’s launching of a “Young Leaders Program”, as well as Iraqi, Regional and Gender Studies programs at AUIB, engaging the latter’s Center for Policy Research, College of Law, and College of Business.

Cooperation and exchange of experience in education and research between AUIB and FES will be in various fields, including economics and social policies, law, trade unions, peace and security, climate and energy. Collaboration will also include sharing library resources and experience in standard and digital archiving. The two parties will also join efforts in Public Outreach initiatives, collaborating jointly with the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sport and local NGOs.
