The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and Ball State University (BSU) are pleased to announce a jointly delivered master’s degree in business administration (MBA) to be launched.  The Presidents of both universities have signed a memorandum of understanding which outlines the details of the new degree.

BSU’s MBA is accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) which is considered the premiere accrediting agency in the world for graduate business school programs and places Ball State University’s business school among the top 10% of business schools worldwide.  This is the first-ever such accredited business degree in Iraq.

Students will complete the program by attending courses at the AUIB campus where they will receive BSU’s cutting-edge curriculum, modified for the Iraqi/global markets.  The program will be taught jointly by both BSU and AUIB faculty.  Also, there will be opportunities for Iraqi students to study at the BSU campus in Muncie, Indiana.

“We are immensely proud to be the first Iraqi university to offer an MBA degree in collaboration with a highly respected international university located in the United States,” said Michael W. Mulnix, president of AUIB.  “Students will graduate with a degree accredited by AACSB that will give them a major competitive advantage in their careers not only in Iraq but around the world.”

The first year of the new MBA will be highly competitive, with only five students being accepted.  It is anticipated the program will grow significantly after that.

“Another important benefit of this MBA is that it is remarkably affordable.  AUIB students will benefit from a substantial discount on BSU fees,” Mulnix said.
