The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) hosted a workshop on Hysteroscopy for medical doctors and surgeons, where the latter took practical tests on the subject, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

AUIB organized the event in collaboration with Left Sphere, a medical events and workshops planning company, the General Director of which, Dr. Saif Abu Nayla, expressed his being proud of the “first-of-a-kind workshop in Iraq, on AUIB campus,” by the standards of organization and equipment used. Dr. Abu Nayla explained that the workshop included “a test accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England, followed by practical training (on Hysteroscopy), using simulators,” where the participating doctors “learnt how to remove affected tissue in the uterus in a right manner.”

One of the participating doctors, Bushra Al-Musawi, director of Kamal Samurrai public hospital and of the Al-Nada Medical Center, expressed her great joy at familiarizing herself with AUIB, “a place for science, knowledge and discussion in Iraq”, thanking the “very professional and prestigious” university for organizing the event. Dr. Al-Musawi hoped that such scientific deliberations and tests would occur periodically, for their role in elevating the scientific knowledge and skills of medical doctors in Iraq and freeing them of the need to travel abroad to develop their scholarship and expertise, as events such as the one hosted by AUIB would bring “scientific minds and (concerned) companies” to Iraq, according to Al-Musawi
