An academic delegation representing three universities in the United States, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Indiana University Bloomington, and Widener University, visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and discussed with its leadership the prospects of future collaboration.

AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, welcomed to campus the visiting delegation, briefed them on the young University’s rapid development of its programs and facilities, and highlighted AUIB’s key future projects. He described the discussions between AUIB’s leading cadre and the U.S. academic delegation as “part of our effort to internationalize this university and have the best possible quality international programs for our students.”

Senior Director of Sponsored Student Services at Indiana University Bloomington, Mr. Daniel Whitmer, thanked President Mulnix for “such an incredible warm welcome,” saying it was “an incredible honor to consider the potential partnership that I can only hope we may forge together.” On a similar note, Executive Director of International Strategy at Widener University, Mr. Michael Shaver, said that his institution “is honored to be here to learn so much about (AUIB) and potential partnerships that we can have in the future; and I can see, as we are expanding Widener University’s footprint across the globe, that AUIB can be part of that footprint.” In turn, Director of Global Strategies at University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Mr. David Long, expressed his hope “to develop partnerships and agreements and see a lot of connections between the University of Nebraska and AUIB.”
