The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) hosted a conference on “Digital Dentistry”, organized by MEDIT, a digital solutions provider for dental clinics and labs, and VANEST, a network of dental polyclinics. AUIB’s Continuing Education Institute (CEI) co-organized the event, and AUIB’s College of Dentistry (CoD) made scientific contributions to the proceedings of the conference.

AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, welcomed the crowd of dental care professionals and practitioners in attendance to “the first major dental conference at AUIB, and also the first conference on Digital Dentistry in Iraq,” highlighting the University’s active engagement in promoting innovation and best practices across the various sectors in the country.

In turn, the Dean of CoD, Dr. Nada Naaman, commended the conference’s capacity to equip professionals in the field for “embracing digital transformation,” facilitating the sharing of knowledge and experience in Digital Dentistry, and providing opportunities for the attendees to engage in meaningful discussions in the same context. Dr. Naaman also spoke of here College’s prospective two-year post-graduate Dental Surgery program that will graduate dentists qualified to practice in countries such as the US and Canada.
