The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) announces the opening of its newest college, the College of Education and Human Development (CoE&HD), in partnership with Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development.

AUIB’s CoE&HD is committed to developing educators and leaders in the field through learner-centered instruction, high-impact research, and practical experience, as the College’s students will be working closely with faculty to discover advanced, innovative, and proven-effective methods of teaching, designing curricula, organizing and managing various educational institutions.

The College offers a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Learning Design (TLD) program that challenges students to think critically, and graduates educators capable of designing educational programs creatively, teaching innovatively, helping youth learn effectively, and ultimately, improving educational systems domestically and globally, across all levels of society. Students will choose one of the two pathways to a diploma: A Teaching Pathway that leads to a teaching certification for the primary grades, and a Learning Design Pathway that empowers graduates to improve educational settings in various organizations and communities.
