The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) continues to expand its international network of partner institutions, thereby opening new horizons before its students and faculty members, and further developing its programs, serving to advance various services sectors in Iraq, especially in the sphere of health and education. In this context, the Ambassador of the Republic of India, Mr. Prashant Pise, visited AUIB and discussed with its President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, prospects of cooperation between the University and various Indian institutions of higher education.
“We’re hoping that we can establish various exchange programs of faculty, staff, and students with superior institutions in India,” said President Mulnix as he welcomed the distinguished guest to campus, speaking of “the possibility of (Indian health and educational institutions) helping develop our healthcare program here, and many other areas of cooperation.”
In turn, Ambassador Pise expressed his “great pleasure and delight” at his visit, calling it “a very wonderful opportunity for India and Iraq to collaborate and cooperate with your university, because I think it’s a futuristic plan, and I’m very impressed by your planning and the various facilities in this very impressive campus.” Ambassador Pise saw that prospective joint programs between AUIB and Indian institutions in academic exchanges, in the fields of medicine, international relations, history, culture, and engineering, “show our collaboration can go a long way.”
