Student Success
At AUIB, we believe strongly that if a student fails in the university, then the university has failed that student. This is not to say that success is guaranteed for every student, but we do guarantee that we will do our best to give that student the academic skills and support needed to succeed. Studying in English can be especially challenging for some students, as well as learning in American-style approaches to learning, which may be very different than what they experienced in school.
Our students not only learn the materials, but they also learn to think critically, to express themselves orally and in writing, to work with others in a “teams” approach to study and work, and to get a broad-based liberal arts education that may have classes that do not seem to fit with their career goals or major. But this is what sets AUIB apart from other universities in Iraq and it can be especially challenging for some students, although the rewards will pay dividends for the rest of their lives.

AUIB has resources and help for students who need it or just want it to make their university experience even better. The pressure of getting a world-class degree and preparing for a career that makes one globally competitive can be intense and sometimes students need to “talk it out” with advisors or counselors or even other students to cope with the challenges. Our professors will work closely with students to ensure they get the help they need and to steer them toward the right help they need. After all, the student’s success if the university’s success and we are committed to ensuring you have the support you need.
