Responsible Stewardship
A major university that is building toward U.S. accreditation and developing a wide range of colleges to serve the needs of Iraq’s reconstruction and revival cannot survive financially on tuition alone. As a private, non-profit university with international faculty, state-of-the-art learning facilities, and world-class laboratories, AUIB cannot exist without the support of donors and philanthropists from around the world. Governments, foundations, and individual donors believe in our dream for Iraq and want to be part of your success as an AUIB student. Apart from our primary benefactor, Mr. Saadi Saihood, these donors have given millions of dollars to establish colleges, fund scholarships, and provide general support to the university.
As recipients of their generosity, AUIB has an obligation to steward these funds in the most responsible and effective manner and to share with our donors how our students are doing and the successes the university is enjoying, as well as the challenges we continue to face. If you receive a scholarship from one of our donors, we will let them know how you’re doing in your program so they can celebrate your success as well. We account for all our funds and donations with independent audits to ensure donors that every penny and dinar of their contribution is being used effectively, just as we promised.
As a recipient and beneficiary of our supporters, you are also a steward and we expect you to do your part to study hard, spend any scholarship money wisely and judiciously, and to let our donors and Scholarship Office know how you are doing academically. Our benefactors are part of your success at AUIB, and we want them to celebrate your success along with all of us!
