Lina Beydoun
Director of Global Engagement Office
Lina Beydoun serves as the inaugural director of the Global Engagement Office at AUIB, where she orchestrates transformative partnerships with universities and organizations. Her dynamic role includes launching Education Abroad programs and spearheading International Student and Scholar Services.
With a storied career marked by academic excellence, Dr. Beydoun played a pivotal role as the Founding Executive Director of the New York Academic Center at Lebanese American University, and held faculty positions at Adelphi University, George Mason University, and Wayne State University. She also served as a joint fellow at both Brookings Doha Center and Qatar University. Dedicated to fostering an interconnected world through global education, she has managed global humanitarian action and international development programs; developed study-abroad programs in Egypt, Switzerland, and Costa Rica; and initiated intentional initiatives, from teaching with a global perspective to providing experiential learning opportunities for students.
Dr. Beydoun’s leadership extends beyond academia, encompassing steering development portfolios at the American University in Cairo and the American University of Beirut. In these roles, she forged strategic partnerships, amplified institutional support, and championed increased access to quality higher education in the Arab region. She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from Wayne State University, and her B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the American University of Beirut.Top of Form Her journey is a narrative of global impact and a commitment to advancing higher education and cross-cultural understanding.
