Dr. Mizanur Rahaman

Associate Professor at College of Law

Before joining AUIB, he served as Associate Professor, Associate Dean and Associate Director at the Centre for Postgraduate Legal Studies, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), where he was teaching on the undergraduate and postgraduate law programs, and a coordinator of the LLM and PhD in law programs.  

Dr. Rahaman has over thirteen years of teaching experience. Previously, he taught at Kent Law School (KLS), University of Kent in UK, at the School of Law, Woloaita Sodo University in Ethiopia, and at American University of Phnom Phen as Adjunct Faculty. 

Dr. Rahaman earned his Bachelor and Master of Law degrees in India, and studied human rights law, and law and development at the University of Warwick. He completed his PhD in law at Kent Law School (KLS), which was funded by the University of Kent doctoral scholarship and teaching assistantship, and Modern Law Review Doctoral Scholarship.  

His research interests include IPRs, international trade and investment law, law & development, human rights & legal pluralism, and legal education. He has published his research in several social science and law journals. Most recently, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at EUI, Italy; a Scholar-in-Residence at GNLU, India; and Research Fellow at Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. He has keen interest in Middle eastern history, law and politics, which he is currently pursuing at Trinty College Dublin.
