The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sterling Schools, aiming to promote cooperation in various initiatives, including “educational programs, professional development, research initiatives, community development, educational events and projects,” as well as joint internship and practicum arrangements.

AUIB hosted the signing ceremony at its campus, where the Dean of the university’s College of Education and Human Development, Dr. Allison Webster-Giddings, and Deputy General Manager of Sterling Schools, Dr. Ibrahim Tokar, inked the MoU.

Stirling Schools’ “long-standing commitment to excellence in education makes them an ideal partner for AUIB’s College of Education and Human Development,” said AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, as he welcomed Stirling Schools’ delegation to campus. “It is especially important for students studying to be educators to have the opportunity to practice their craft during their university studies… With strong practicing mentors and support by our own faculty observers, our students will graduate fully prepared for classrooms in Iraq and the broader region. This will make them especially sought after in the job market,” he added.

“Our goal is to prepare young minds not only to achieve academic excellence, but also to grow into leaders who can solve problems, think critically, and contribute positively to their communities. AUIB shares this vision: your focus on high quality education and your commitment to developing future leaders make you an inspiring partner,” said Public Relations Coordinator at Sterling Schools, Mr. Sarhang Othman. “This partnership will allow us to share ideas, create joint projects, and open new pathways for both students and teachers… Together, we’ll inspire our students to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals. We’ll also build a strong foundation for future education in Iraq,” he added.
