Mindy Plumlee
Director of Institutional Advancement
Mindy joined AUIB in November of 2024 as the Director of Institutional Advancement. Her vision is to work with the stellar team at AUIB and throughout the region to connect people through giving and educational experiences for the youth of Iraq to impact their community and the world. Prior to her time here, she served as Executive Director for a statewide Ronald McDonald House Charities chapter in the US for over twenty-two years. Her background includes high level strategy work, project management, resource and partnership development, change management and executive leadership. Developing policies, financial budgets and oversight, risk management and operational effectiveness helped to grow the organizations she has led.
Spending her entire professional career in the non-profit realm, Mindy is passionate about service, excels in successful fundraising, organizing and executing capital campaigns, and developing plans for annual giving streams. Working on the University’s fundraising, alumni relations and building a global network of donors is a chance for Mindy to use her skill sets to bring opportunities for student scholarships and success.
She has a deep knowledge of board governance, sustainable philanthropy and mindful relationships. Mindy’s experience includes brand management, communications, and representing organizations at events, meetings, and with donors. At home speaking to a crowd of thousands, or meeting on-on-one with key stakeholders, she takes great pride in bringing together partners and the community to invest in the mission of AUIB.
Mindy holds a degree from Texas A&M University & has an Executive Education Certificate with RMHC from Kellogg School of Nonprofit Management at Northwestern University.
