This position will report directly to the Dean of the College of Business.
Position description
The ideal applicant will be a dedicated educator with expertise teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Human Resources and/or Organizational Behavior with experience working with international and multi-lingual learners. Depending on need, assigned courses may include but not limited to Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Business Ethics, Business Communication, and Leadership. Research specialization is open. As part of the newly established College, the successful applicant will help develop curriculum and assist the College as it prepares for accreditation.
Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.
Summary of key responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the Management degree program. May require teaching in other College of Business degree programs as needed.
- Creating and posting course learning outcomes to ensure student understanding of course expectations.
- Creating syllabi and materials to ensure students are engaged with course content and able to achieve course learning outcomes.
- Creating assessment and evaluation rubrics of student performance related to course learning objectives and to identify areas for student improvement.
- Assisting student learning during scheduled office hours.
- Assigning grades and maintaining course/student records in accordance with regulations and submitting grades and records by established deadlines.
- Serving on university committees to enhance department and university policies and processes to enhance student academic and career success.
- Attending all required university events such as commencement, faculty meetings, etc.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships within the campus community and among professionals, foundations, and companies that support institutional growth.
- Performing other appropriate and reasonable required duties as assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
- PhD in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Management, or a related discipline.
- The degree granting institution will preferably be from an accredited, English medium university in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or England.
- Minimum 3 years full-time, college-level teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching in international settings and working with multi-lingual learners is highly desirable.
- Experience in accreditation, curriculum and program development and/or prior administrative work a plus.
- Evidence of a strong record of scholarship, professional practice and/or relevant consultancy. Or clear potential to engage in scholarly activity.
- A high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings.
