Job Summary: AUIB is seeking a Field Support Engineer – IT, dedicated to supporting AUIB culture of IT service excellence and creating an end-user-focused environment. This role is vital in ensuring that the needs of our students, staff, and faculty are met with the highest standards of IT support, following best practices and methodologies. The ideal candidate will prioritize user satisfaction, and contribute to a stable, reliable, and productive work environment. The ultimate goal is to drive IT support and service success, improving overall AUIB community satisfaction.
This postion reports to ICT Infrastructure Manager.
Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.
Areas of Accountabilities: Main Activities :
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for all end user devices and applications used within AUIB. This includes but is not limited to MS Office 365 suite, conferencing and collaboration systems, Microsoft SharePoint, and all end user devices and IT equipment.
- Ensure that incidents and requests are properly put/logged into our AUIB Online Portal, assigned, updated, tracked, and responded to in a timely manner and according to agreed standards and procedures (SLAs).
- Ensure end users are kept informed of progress and that corrective action is taken to avoid.
- Setup, configure, and perform day-to-day maintenance and administration of Windows systems.
- Ensure timely updates are recorded and maintained in the AUIB ITSM.
- Pass calls to the appropriate team if cannot be resolved by self and liaise with 3rd parties when appropriate. Follow up until resolved.
- Build, test and install desktops, laptops and printers and manage inventory within the asset management system.
- Complete tasks and projects to agreed deadlines keeping your manager updated on progress.
- Ability to learn new systems and applications, as necessary.
- Coordinate the customer support activities and monitor work requests related IT network infrastructure, phones, and TV cable.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related Information Technology field.
Proven experience (3+ years) as Software developer with analysis, implementation and evaluation/ testing of Applications and their requirements.
Experience in the Education Sector would be a good plus
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure and server technologies
- Knowledge of application and/or operating systems
- Knowledge of networking/telephony operating systems and monitoring and management applications
- Knowledge of system capacity planning
- Skill in providing day-to-day system/application administration and/or system/application administration in support in a variety of work environments
- Skill in installing and maintaining applications or operating systems or equipment
- Ability to define, analyze, and find solutions for difficult or complex problems
- Ability to recognize, value, and include different perspectives, experiences, approaches, and cultures in achieving organizational goals
- Strong background in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Strong background in O365, Azure, Intune.
- Demonstrates understanding of troubleshooting Windows Server issues.
