A delegation of Al-Alamain Institute for Graduate Studies, headed by the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Zaid Adnan Mohsen, visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), where they were received by AUIB President, Dr. Michael Mulnix, and senior members of faculty and staff. The two parties discussed the prospects of cooperation, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining their partnership.

“It’s a distinct honor to be associated with your institute and all the good work you do,” said President Mulnix in welcoming the visiting delegation, proceeding to brief them on AUIB’s developing infrastructure and programs, shedding light especially on the University’s plans for the near future to establish its College of Engineering, College of Media and Communications, College of Education, with an associated Lab School, and its College of Medicine, with a 220-bed or possibly 400-bed university hospital. “We’ll become good friends and colleagues, for sure, and we’ll have faculty exchange programs, and joint programs with students. We’re looking forward to future cooperation,” concluded Dr. Mulnix.

For his part, Dr. Mohsen thanked AUIB for its warm welcome and hospitality, and spoke of Al-Alamain Institute’s status as “pioneering and unique” among private educational institutions of higher education in Iraq, pointing out the Institute’s membership in the Iraqi council for private education, an organ of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Dr. Mohsen expounded on the Institute’s programs, which fall within the realm of Humanities, highlighting the Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Public and Private Law, Political Science, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, Political Thought, International Relations, and Media Studies, in addition to Diploma programs in subjects such as Elections and Good Governance.
