Allison Webster-Giddings
Dean of College of Education and Human Development
Allison Webster-Giddings is the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development which, in partnership with Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development, has designed and launched a bachelor’s degree program to promote an American-style approach to education teaching and learning design and prepare a new generation of teachers for Iraq’s schools.
Dr. Webster-Giddings’ leadership of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams in engineering fields coupled over twenty years in higher education, informs her practice at AUIB. Her area of research is the development of leadership through education, non-traditional university student persistence and completion, engineering education and design of aircraft control systems. As the UNESCO Chair on Education for Global Health and Wellness is uniquely positioned to bring practical experience, theoretical knowledge to higher education policy and leadership.
Dr. Webster-Giddings holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Science in Aviation Systems from University of Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy.
