AUIB’s Vice President of Enrollment Services and Student Affairs, Dr. James Pounder, honored the students Anwar Adnan and Samia Sinan for their special contribution to the recent student orientation program by sharing their personal experiences at the University with the new students.

The honored students showed remarkable openness in talking about their personal experiences at the counselling sessions provided by the Wellness Center. They spoke candidly about how they benefited from the individual sessions with mental health counselor, Ms. Yousra Misad.

Dr. Pounder praised Anwar’s and Samia’s initiative in talking about their personal experiences, saying: “Talking about personal mental health issues takes great courage in Middle Eastern society, and we at Student Affairs are committed to supporting students in dealing with such issues.” The honoring of the two students marked an important step towards raising students’ awareness of the importance of psychological well-being and happiness in their academic journey and encouraging them to seek help when needed.
