Mr. Shamma was received by the Vice President for International Relations, Ambassador John Menzies; Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Thomas Hallahan; Marketing and Communications Director, Alicia Holland, Government/External Relations Manager, Mahmood Hatem, and President Executive Assistant, Mis Tara Kareem.

They discussed potential cooperation between the accomplished composer and the University that would enrich AUIB’s College of Arts and Science programs and support the development of performing arts in the country.

Ambassador Menzies outlined the mission, vision, and future of AUIB and its colleges and institutes, noting the importance the University places on the arts, music, and the essential value of these in a country’s culture.

Shamma offered his support to the University and praised its efforts to promote higher education quality in the country.
