Representing the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), Assistant Professor of Anthropology at AUIB’s College of Healthcare Technologies, Dr. Jonathon Brooks, contributed to the “World Police Summit 2023,” held in Dubai, a keynote presentation and an Expert Hub lecture on developments in forensic science and its applications, and participated in a panel discussion on the same theme.

At the Summit, Dr. Brooks engaged a number of national and international police and humanitarian agencies in discussions on the prospects of partnering with AUIB’s Humanitarian Forensic Center, serving to expand the latter’s role from training of professionals in the field to active engagement in humanitarian efforts, not only in Iraq, but also the broader region.

Dr. Brooks’ active participation in the Forensic Science conference, one of the six conferences of the World Police Summit, and his substantial contribution to it led to his appointment as an Associate Editor of the “Arab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine,” published by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, and also his appointment as a Research Fellow at the same university, serving to further expand AUIB’s network of collaborating and partner institutions of higher education.
