As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Iraqi Ministry of Health and the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB), represented by the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development (CEID), a joint meeting was held to enhance Iraq’s healthcare sector and promote the principles of quality assurance and institutional accreditation in accordance with international standards.
Discussions focused on the implementation of ISO-based quality systems, drawing on CEID’s expertise in quality management, patient safety, and institutional efficiency. The meeting also explored avenues for capacity building through specialized training programs designed to empower healthcare professionals and administrative staff to adopt modern quality frameworks within the health sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministry’s delegation toured AUIB’s campus and facilities, reaffirming the partnership’s role as a national model for healthcare development, and highlighting the shared commitment to advancing institutional excellence and sustainable improvement in Iraq’s healthcare system.
