The College of Dentistry (CoD) at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) organized a “Donuts with the Dean” event, where Freshman CoD Students met their College’s faculty members and attended a presentation, delivered by the Dean, Dr. Nada Naaman, on the College, its programs, and procedures, followed by a Q&A session.
AUIB Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Zuhair Atieh, welcomed the students to the University and to CoD, which aims at establishing itself as “the best College of Dentistry” in Iraq and the broader region, said Dr. Atieh, touching upon the marked developments that CoD has achieved over the past two years. “Only the best (candidates) will join” the College, Dr. Atieh remarked, citing the small percentage of applicants admitted to the College (120 applicants accepted, out of 1200).
Dr. Naaman spoke of the achievements and advantages of the young CoD, notably of its certification by the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE), its state-of-the-art equipment, and its use and teaching of both analogue and digital technologies in its field.
