The College of Business (CoB) at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) has attained membership of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a prominent global business education accrediting body that offers accreditation to all levels of collegiate business educational degree programs, from associate to doctoral.
Membership means CoB’s commitment to working towards attaining accreditation, which would “yield many benefits to students and the business community. Primary amongst these includes assurance of the quality and rigor of the education and training students receive; this creates confidence in the skills and abilities of graduates, making them desirable and sought out by employers,” according to the Dean of CoB, Dr. Kate O’Neill.
AUIB’s CoB had already gained membership of one of the most prestigious accreditation institutions in the world, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), known to accredit several of the Ivy League universities. In doing so, CoB had committed itself to achieving AACSB’s standards regarding the structure, processes, and functions of the College, including its mechanisms of governance and quality assurance.
