A delegation of the Commission of Industrial Research and Development at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), where it met with senior university cadre and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aiming to establish a partnership between the two parties in educational and training activities, “leveraging each other’s strength in pursuit of enhancing their services and expanding their impact”.
AUIB President, Dr. Bradley Cook, welcomed the visiting delegation, headed by the Commission’s Director General, Dr. Abdulrahman Abbas Tu’ma, and including the directors of several of the Commission’s branches. After brief remarks, Dr. Cook and Dr. Tu’ma signed the memorandum that officially launches a partnership aiming to advance professional capabilities, support sustainable development, and strengthen technical and academic competencies across Iraq.
The scope of collaboration includes the joint organization of specialized training programs, workshops, certification programs, applied research projects, and joint scientific events, creating a framework for continuous knowledge exchange and innovation, aligning with AUIB’s mission of preparing future leaders for Iraq’s industrial sector.
