In cooperation with MERQAB and the International Team for Implantology (ITI), a global association of professionals in implant dentistry, the College of Dentistry (CoD) at the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) held a scientific conference that witnessed the launching of a local chapter of ITI Study Clubs.
Membership in any of these Study Clubs allows keeping abreast of the activities of all Clubs around the world, whether by in-person attendance of the various conferences, seminars, and workshops organized, or even online, explains CoD Dean, Dr. Nada Naaman, adding that “our purpose is establishing a local chapter of ITI Study Clubs in Iraq and holding its first scientific conference at AUIB,” where two lectures were given, the first by Dr. Naaman, on “Soft Tissue Management Around Implants,” and the other by Visiting Associate Professor at AUIB’s CoD, Dr. Nicola Valente, on “Clinical Challenges in Sinus Floor Augmentation.” Following the lectures, discussions were held with the audience of oral surgeons and dentists interested in implantology, as well as university college deans and heads of oral surgery departments at several hospitals, in addition to CoD students, faculty, and staff.
