A delegation from the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), headed by university President, Dr. Bradley Cook, visited the Ministry of Planning, where they met the Deputy Prime Minister / Minister of Planning, Dr. Mohammad Ali Tameem, and discussed cooperation between the two parties.
Deliberations focused on bilateral cooperation in scientific research in fields of common interest, and in working towards institutionalizing cooperation in training Ministry cadre, such that AUIB would be a strategic partner of the Ministry’s Training and Development Center, the entity concerned with the training of all Ministries’ staff. Also discussed were the prospects of supporting pioneering entrepreneurship programs in Iraq, and particularly the ways in which patents may give rise to actual enterprises, with the help of the entrepreneurship unit of AUIB’s Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development (CEID).
