The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and Lawrence Technological University (LTU) in the United States continue to develop their academic partnership. Building on their successful collaboration in the founding of an Engineering Program at AUIB, the two partner institutions further their collaboration in enhancing AUIB’s Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) program_ the first of its kind in Iraq_ including by making available to AUIB students the opportunity to earn LTU’s Graduate Certificate in Project Management.
AUIB’s College of Business and LTU’s College of Business and Information Technology inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) serving “to confirm the delivery of three LTU MBA courses during Summer 2025, each delivered in an accelerated format, as part of this academic partnership” between the two universities, which includes the exchange of faculty and students. As a result of this enhanced collaboration, students enrolled in AUIB’s MBA program will obtain the LTU Graduate Certificate in Project Management after successfully completing four courses, three delivered by LTU, and one by AUIB, knowing that LTU is giving discounts to AUIB students on all courses, whether they are offered at AUIB or LTU.
LTU Professor Dr. Bahman Mirshab will deliver a course on AUIB campus, on Operations Management. Another two courses will be delivered on LTU campus in Southfield, Michigan: one on Organization Development and Change Management, delivered by LTU Professor Dr. Jackie Stavros, and the other on Project Management, delivered by LTU Professor Dr. Massood Omrani. The credits of a fourth course delivered on AUIB campus, on Leadership, will be transferred to LTU, thus satisfying the requirements of the LTU Graduate Certificate in Project Management.
“We are excited about the mutual benefits this collaboration brings to our institutions and look forward to its successful implementation this summer,” commented Professor Matthew Cole, Dean of LTU’s College of Business and Information Technology.
Director of the MBA program at AUIB, Dr. Farid Nabti, saw that “the signing of an MOU between our AUIB and Lawrence Technological University in Michigan, USA, marks a significant step forward in fostering academic collaboration and mutual growth. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing education, research, and cultural exchange. We deeply appreciate the cooperation that made this agreement possible. We look forward to the opportunities this collaboration will bring for students, faculty, and researchers from both institutions.”
