Dr. Martin Rosenstock
Assistant Professor of Language and Literature
Before joining AUIB, he held positions at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait, the University of Connecticut, and Iowa State University, and taught a wide range of literature, language, and culture classes.
At GUST, he was founding chair of the Global Studies Center, which organizes guest lectures and the stays of visiting scholars. After the conclusion of his tenure (2015-2018), he remained on the Center’s steering committee and joined the editorial board of the Center’s newsletter.
He holds two M.A.s (English and American Studies from Goethe-University, Frankfurt/Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia) and a Ph.D. in German/Comparative Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
He has published widely in leading academic journals in the fields of (post-)colonial culture and literature as well as European/American crime and detective fiction and maintains an active research agenda with a current focus on postwar European literature; he has also published and edited creative works in the field of crime and detective fiction.
