Dr. John J. A. Burke

Professor in the College of Law

Dr. Burke holds a Ph.D. in international law from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He has served as Rector of two European universities and Professor of Law and Director of the LLM program at KIMEP University, Kazakhstan. 

He specializes in international law, monetary development, financial services, and technology. His research focuses upon the intersection of law, economics, and finance. Dr. Burke teaches courses in law, banking, and accounting. 

His most recent book is “Financial Services in the Twenty-First Century” (Palgrave Macmillan 2021), and his next “The Global Financial System” is accepted for publication in 2025. Professor Burke has published more than 31 journal articles.
