Dr. Hanan Ahmad
Preclinical and Clinical Instructor in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics
Before joining AUIB, she completed her Master’s degree in Minimally Invasive Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London, having been awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the UK government. During her postgraduate studies, she focused on advanced minimally invasive restorative techniques. Her current research focuses on the biological interactions between dental biomaterials and tooth structure, as well as oral epidemiology and public health.
She is the founder of a dental outreach program dedicated to promoting oral health in underserved communities in Iraq since 2022, with a particular focus on refugee and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps. Through this initiative, she has led multiple community-based programs aimed at improving dental awareness, enhancing preventive care, and increasing access to treatment for vulnerable populations.
In her current role, she contributes to teaching and training dental students in restorative dentistry, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. Her academic interests include minimally invasive dental care, innovative restorative materials, and oral health promotion strategies to reduce the burden of dental caries among children in Iraq.
Her work bridges academic research, clinical teaching, and community engagement, contributing to the advancement of preventive dentistry and the improvement of oral health outcomes across the country.
