Alicia Holland
Chief Public Affairs Officer
Having joined the University in 2021 as Director of the Office of Marketing and Communications and Director of the American Spaces program, Alicia currently serves as AUIB’s Chief Public Affairs Officer.
She is a seasoned professional with a 28-year career marked by expertise in strategic planning, public affairs, global relations, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. Her experience includes advancing institutional positioning, strengthening external relations, and leading outreach initiatives across complex and dynamic environments.
Alicia has extensive experience working across the Gulf and Middle East for more than 17 years, with a strong focus on higher education in emerging economies and conflict-affected contexts. She has supported organizations through strategic transformation and served as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on matters of public positioning, partnerships, and institutional engagement.
Her work has consistently focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with government entities, community leaders, and key stakeholders, contributing to measurable impact and long-term institutional value.
She is also recognized for her ability to support high-level engagement with senior stakeholders, including government representatives, international leaders, and institutional partners.
Her dedication to service is reflected in her eight-year tenure as an elected Country Officer in the U.S. Department of State-sponsored U.S. Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Qatar chapter.
