The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq, Mr. Ruben Soghoyan, visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), where he met its President, Dr. Bradley Cook, and senior members of university cadre. The two parties discussed the prospects of collaboration in advancing “career-oriented education” and in organizing scientific and cultural events that would engage AUIB students and community youth.
Ambassador Soghoyan expressed his joy at being hosted at “this magnificent and prominent institution which (offers) high-quality, value-based education” to its students. He also expressed his optimism regarding the prospects for collaboration with AUIB, saying, “hopefully, we will be great partners.” The diplomat addressed AUIB students, encouraging them to seize “all opportunities to learn more, to be good professionals in whatever field you have chosen.”
Discussions between AUIB cadre and the Armenian diplomatic mission focused on topics including possible collaboration with Armenian industries in the overlapping fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as organizing Study Abroad trips for AUIB students to Armenia.
