The College of Law at the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) welcomed a delegation from the Higher Institute for Forensic Sciences under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The two parties discussed prospects for academic and scientific cooperation, paving the way for signing a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing graduate programs and exchanging expertise in the fields of justice and criminal sciences. 

The Higher Institute for Forensic Sciences is the first of its kind in Iraq, playing a significant role in developing forensics and combating crime through its three departments: Forensic Engineering, Forensic Biology, and Forensic Chemistry. The Institute offers a Master’s degree in its various specializations, and cooperation with it contributes to achieving the College of Law’s ambition to open unique and pioneering specializations in advanced legal fields, thereby enhancing the College’s role in developing legal education in Iraq.
