A delegation from the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB), representing the university’s College of Arts and Sciences, Center for Climate Change, Water Security, and Environmental Sustainability (CWE), and Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development (CEID), visited the Directorate of Seed Testing and Certification at the Ministry of Agriculture, with an aim to establish a framework for sustainable cooperation in scientific development and practical learning, serving to support the two parties’ efforts at “facing the challenges of environmental change, buttressing food security, and developing the agricultural sector.”
Discussions focused on exploring areas of prospective collaboration in studies and research_ especially on the development of techniques in sustainable agriculture and on the improvement of the quality and productivity of seeds_ as well as collaboration in capacity-building workshops and training programs, and also in making available to AUIB students hands-on training at the Ministry’s facilities.
