Mr. Neil Beauchamp, First Secretary and Advisor on Climate and Energy affairs at the British embassy in Baghdad visited the American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) at the head of a diplomatic delegation, where they were received by AUIB President, Dr. Bradley Cook, and members of university cadre.
Discussions centered around furthering cooperation between AUIB and the British Embassy on initiatives aiming to mitigate climate change, manage water scarcity, and promote the Greening of the various sectors of the Iraqi economy. The delegation was briefed on AUIB initiatives in this regard, led by the university’s Center for Climate Change, Water Security, and Environmental Sustainability (CWE). Ensuing deliberations focused on identifying and developing opportunities for collaboration between the two parties in areas of climate and energy.
