This position will report to the Head of Department of Natural & Applied Sciences

JOB SUMMARY:

• Teach basic and advanced courses for undergraduate students of diverse majors in the following areas of biology: anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, histology, and biochemistry
• Assist in departmental and programmatic planning and preparations.
• Be familiar with all the rules, regulations and policies that govern teaching, and interactions with members of the university community and always observe them.

Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

The right candidate should be able to:

• Teach basic and advanced biology courses for undergraduate majors in biology and related fields in the biomedical/health sciences.
• Supervise lab instruction.
• Contribute to pertinent departmental and programmatic planning and preparations.
• Be familiar with all the rules, regulations and policies that govern teaching, research, and interactions with members of the university community and always observe them.

JOB Qualifications Minimum:

A: Education:

• PhD in biology or a closely related field obtained from a reputable university in the United States or Europe.

B: Experience: Years/Type of Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience post-secondary in a college/ university setting.

C: Professional Licenses and Certifications:

D: Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• In-depth and up to date knowledge of biology concepts, theories, and applications relevant to the field of biomedical sciences.
• Skillful at conveying complex ideas, designing engaging lectures, and facilitating active learning.
• Expertise in developing course materials, overseeing lab activities, including setup, safety, and experiment supervision.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for effective interaction and presenting findings.
• Proven track record of publishing in respected journals within the field.
• Adaptability to evolving education and technology trends while upholding quality.
• Commitment to high ethical standards in teaching, research, and conduct.
